Frozen out

Again!! Every year we have the same problem--the turkey doesn't thaw out in time. We have it soaking in cold water to speed up the process, but that doesn't really work very well. I think last year we might have just given up and put it in the oven anyway, and we're still around to talk about it. And it doesn't make sense to cook everything else and do the turkey last since the other stuff will sit out for 4 hours waiting for the turkey to get done. Sigh.

But, well, Alton Brown has some good ideas on how to thaw a turkey. I think you can find his turkey episodes on Foodnetwork.com.
