Jul. 8th, 2005 09:23 amIn happy news, my sunflower is blooming! I planted a package of probably 10 seeds, and they all came up and acted like they were going to go wild, but only one actually lived past about 1 foot high. But it's blooming, and it's mine! And it's really small.
Also, I had my first tomato of the season from my Early Girl plant. The skin was a little tough, but it was perfect otherwise. Romas and one of the Supersonics will be ready soon too. I suspect that a huge number of them will ripen during the 2+ weeks I'm out of town.
The dogs are desperate to go out and bark at the landscapers across the street. But since they destroyed my expensive memory foam mattress pad thingie last night, they are on one big time-out today. I think some serious exercise would help straighten them out, as they have been cooped up for a couple days because of the rain.
