From the New York Times:
To the Editor:
The Vatican document simply repeats Catholic truths reported in the early 60's and back through the whole history of the church.
For the last 40 years, homosexually active priests have ignored the message of sin and forgiveness through Christ. Instead of preserving Christian culture, they pursued so-called gay culture, especially in the seminaries, creating an artificial priest shortage by scaring away heterosexual men from the priesthood.
In dioceses that have pursued Catholic culture, the seminaries are full to overflowing, and the church is healthy. May this document make seminaries "Catholic friendly" again.
