So it's spring break now. The weather was completely gorgeous and perfect over the weekend, so yard work was done. Roses and azaleas were transplanted to more sensible spots, and now I can gaze upon them from my office window if they should choose to bloom. Some dingus planted aucuba, which likes to grow to 10 feet tall, in front of our front windows, so I have to move that today, probably to the back fence, where I hope to screen our yard from the dogs who live behind us so Vivian can stop barking like a crazy dog.

I redid my taxes using Tax Act online, as my aunt recommended, and it's saving me several hundred dollars over what Turbo Tax did. So I like it. Now I want to return Turbo Tax to Staples, but I think I may have thrown away the receipt.

So spring break really doesn't hold much excitement this year, but that's fine with me. Getting the house and yard cleaned up and taxes out of the way are pretty big accomplishments at this point. Friday night I'll be hosting a rescue brittany on his way to a foster home in Savannah, so that should be the pinnacle of spring break excitement. I hope he's not the type to pee in the house, now that we have cleaned it.

I'm making saag paneer. Observations:

I need a much bigger dairy skillet. If I put one more drop into the one I have, it's going to overflow.

Paneer is hard to cut. Indian cooks must be very strong.

This dish could probably be made in the crockpot with ease. I had to make garam masala from scratch, so this batch of saag is more labor intensive than future ones will be, so if it turns out well, I will be ecstatic to have a new crock pot recipe.
